The song “Marching for our Beloved” reflects the spirit of the people
of Korea during the 1980s. It is a memorial song slated for May each year; it is
a symbol of the democratization movement of the freedom-loving people of the
Republic of Korea.
Gwangju Metropolitan City and the Gwangju Cultural Foundation have commissioned orchestral works based on the song “Marching for our Beloved.” It will be incorporated into Korean cultural and artistic genre. To help promote and spread the word to people living beyond the borders of Korea, we are calling for orchestras to schedule performances between October 20, 2021 and December 10, 2021.
